Nhanda language open day - December 10th!

Come and join us for a day of celebrating Nhanda language at the Kalbarri foreshore!

This event is a culmination of the 'Nhanda Language Nhanda Country' project, which brought together members of Nhanda families to reconnect with language and talk about where the language is headed in the future. As part of this project, Nhanda Elders guided their families through language activities, memories of Elders who spoke language but who were forbidden to pass it on, and planning for the future of language for all Nhanda people. We know that not everyone was able to make it to the workshops, so this event is open to any Nhanda person (whether you attended a workshop or not!) and we'd love to have you there!

The workshops so far

This open day will celebrate the resilience of Nhanda people in reconnecting with and revitalising language. Elders and workshop participants will share their experiences and dreams for language, Nhanda resources will be available and of course there will be a great feed and a great playlist!

Buses are available from Geraldton and Northampton - please contact the language centre to book your spot ASAP as places are limited. Unfortunately there is no fuel assistance available for this event.

A program of activities for the day will be released soon - stay tuned! We are looking forward to seeing you all in Kalbarri and please make sure you invite all family who might be interested in coming along.
